Women in the Word Wednesdays..


I am truly enjoying this 1 John Bible Study. I do this through a facebook group (Java Girls) by way of Good Morning Girls. It really has been an encouragement and blessing in my life. This is what I shared with the group this morning, and now share with all of you....

1 John 1:8-9

⁸ If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from   all unrighteousness.

WOW! The study is starting to go deep!! It makes us look at ourselves, like looking into a mirror. YIKES!!!-Just kidding, really it is a good thing to look at our lives and see how God loves us, etc...This is what I got out of the verse today.This is my Observation and Application together... The words, DECEIVE OURSELVES.. I think we all do that, we are human!! We put on blinders at times when we need to really LOOK at how we are, etc.. I realize more everyday how much I need the Lord. Yes, He is my Lord and Saviour, but I still mess up. Sin still creeps into my life, and to say it doesn't, is just kidding myself. CONFESS is the other word that stands out. As a kid I would hate my parents asking me, "who did it?" like if someone lied, or we broke something etc.. I am learning that confession is more than an admission to guilt. I don't think God wants us on a forever guilt trip. It is so we can RELEASE that which is keeping us down. Sin does that, it weighs us down. When we GIVE and RELEASE it to HIM, then we are forgiven, cleansed, free! What kept us down and defeated is GONE! Lastly, the words FAITHFUL AND JUST, which means to me that the LORD loves us unconditionally. There is nothing that would stop the love He has for us. He conquered sin, He wants us to conquer it out of our lives as well. He is fair(just), he realizes we are merely mortal, that we come with struggles, imperfections, etc. His LOVE covers it all....

My Prayer is that everyday I give it to God, that I do not try to do this "Life Thing" all myself, that He is there!! I pray that when there are times when I let this world get the best of me and sin has arrived like a bad dream, that I go to my heavenly Father. Give it to Him, that He understands, forgives and releases me from it, so that I can live a better life!
